Spring Cleaning Outdoors

As the weather has warmed up to summer time temperatures, now is a good time to take your spring cleaning outside. After raking and picking up all the debris in the yard left by Old Man Winter, now is the time to clean the deck or patio before bringing out the furniture and pretty pillows!

Remove grime, pollen, fungus and mildew with a store bought deck cleanser or this homemade formula:

Add one cup of powdered laundry detergent to one gallon of hot water and a 1/2 cup of chlorine bleach.

The bleach will help kill the moss or mildew.

A power washer with a reservoir for adding a cleaning solution will make this job easier. If you don't have a power washer, then the cleaning solution can be added to a deck sprayer. Once applied, be sure to rinse with a hose. This can also be used to wash the dirt and cobwebs from the house too.

Dedicate one day to cleaning the exterior of the house and outside areas and your reward will be a nice clean yard ready for relaxation and summertime entertaining!
